Not registered in the Ontario Autism Program?

Kinark Autism Services provides a range of high-quality, evidence-based services to children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. For families who are not registered in the Ontario Autism Program (OAP), Kinark offers a range of individualized services that can be accessed and are available for purchase. These services include:

  • Assessment Services are offered through Kinark Autism Services for children and youth and are used to evaluate their development, thinking, learning, emotions and day-to-day functioning. The information gathered through assessments helps to support families in making informed decisions for their child’s health care needs. We provide Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Psychoeducational and Social-Emotional Assessments.
  • Occupational Therapy helps to support your child when learning everyday life skills, as well as concerns related to sensory processing, motor function, self-care and more. Our Occupational Therapist works with families to identify goals and develop an individualized, evidence-based treatment plan.
  • Respite Services are offered through the Kinark Outdoor Centre. We offer a variety of respite options to meet the needs of families.

Why register your child in the Ontario Autism Program?

By registering your child or youth with ASD in the Ontario Autism Program (OAP), your family can benefit as it provides access to a variety of fully funded supports and services for children and youth, their caregivers and other family members.

These funded supports include Foundational Family Services, such as parent and caregiver education workshops, service navigation, brief behavioural consultations and transition support. Eligible families enrolled in the OAP may also participate in caregiver-mediated early years (CMEY) programs, which allows caregivers and their child to learn new skills and meet individual goals.

As the OAP continues to develop, families may be eligible to access additional funded services and funding to receive core clinical services, including Applied Behaviour Analysis services, Speech and Language Pathology services, Occupational Therapy and mental health support.
