Social Time!

Join our Family Support Workers for a social time that the whole family can enjoy!

Social Time is a fun and interactive way for families, teens, parents and kids to connect virtually, discuss ongoing events or participate in different activities and crafts! Facilitated by our Family Support Workers, Kinark offers four types of groups to meet the needs of our children, youth, and their families.

Parent/Caregiver Social Time

Parent social time is designed for parents and caregivers of children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Sessions provide a safe space for parents to have virtual discussions about challenges they may face, questions they may have or just an opportunity to meet with other parents who can understand their day to day lives. Parenting strategies and experiences will be shared in each session.

Are you looking for information on the funding and camps available for your child this spring break? In this workshop, you will learn about the camps available in the GTA and funding options that you can apply for to get additional support.

Foundational Family Services and Urgent Response Services

Is your child registered in the Ontario Autism Program? Do you want to learn more about Foundational Family Services and Urgent Response Services? Join us for a discussion on how and where you can access these helpful services free of charge.

Family Social Time

Family social time is designed for families of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Sessions aim to provide an hour of fun virtually through interactive and engaging activities for the whole family!

Join us virtually for some creative fun making winter objects out of modelling clay! Additional details on the items required will be shared upon registration.

Sibling Game Night

Bring your sibling to game night! Work with your sibling as a team and face other families in virtual games. Remember to work together and cheer everyone on!

Lego Building Fun

Time to use your imagination and creativity on a lego building adventure! Register by February 1 to receive your free lego kit and then join us virtually to build them with other families. Your free kit will be provided upon confirmation of attendance and needs to be picked up at our Markham office prior to the workshop. Additional details for pick up will be provided upon registration.

Taco Kit

Tacos are a simple and fun recipe that includes fresh ingredients the whole family can enjoy! Register by February 1 to receive a taco kit to join us virtually and make this fun recipe. Your free kit will need to be picked up at our Markham office prior to the workshop. Additional details for pick up and kit customization will be provided upon registration. Adult supervision is required when creating your taco kit.

Dance Party

Come dance with us! Bring your favourite shoes and dances moves and join us for a virtual dance party.

Does your family enjoy painting? Grab your paint brushes and paper and join us for some creative fun!

Cookie Kit

Does your family love cookies? Register by March 1 to receive a free cookie making kit and join us virtually to create them! Your free kit will need to be picked up at our Markham office prior to the workshop. Additional details for pick up and kit customization will be provided upon registration.

Spring Crafts

Kid Social Time

Kid social time is designed for children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to connect virtually and participate in fun activities such as crafts, show and tell, dance parties and much more. These sessions are recommended for children and youth aged five to 12.

Virtual Zoo Field Trip

Join us for a fun virtual zoo experience! Participants will follow a read along and look at various zoo animals through an interactive experience.

Green Thumb Flower Kit

Spring is around the corner! The snow is melting and soon little seeds that are planted will turn into beautiful flowers. Register by February 22 to receive one of our spring flowers kits and then join us virtually to plant them together! Your free kit will need to be picked up at our Markham office prior to the workshop. Additional details for pick up will be provided upon registration.

Sensory Crafts

Join us for fun and easy, hands-on sensory activities you can do at home! Participants will create sensory crafts, such as moon dough, zip lock paintings and sensory bottles. Additional details on the items required will be shared upon registration.

Draw Your Own Story

Grab your markers, pencils and crayons and join us to create your own story! Using your imagination, you will create your own mini story book.

Teen Social Time

Teen social time is designed for youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to connect virtually and participate in fun and educational activities and discussions. These sessions are recommended for youth aged 12 to 18.

Virtual Cooking – Pizza

Calling all pizza lovers! Do you want to learn how to make pizza with all your favourite toppings? Join us for a fun evening of making delicious homemade pizza together. Adult supervision is recommended when cooking. Kits will be provided to families that confirm attendance.

Living a Rich Life
